1+1=1 Gallery is Moving – and having a Big Sale

Thank you to everyone who has become a collector of our art, who has come in to 1+1=1 Gallery to look, appreciate, help, buy, and just visit, get/give hugs. We couldn’t have done 11 months without you!
Now we are asking for your help and support again. This time we need cash flow to remodel our new gallery down the street. Purchase framed, numbered archival prints from our gallery during the month of September for 20% off. You can save between $70 and $140 and we raise money to help us fix up our new space. Cool!

Collaborative Art Piece Benefits Teen Moms

The winning bidder of Girl Power generously donated the piece back to the Florence Crittenton Home and it is on loan to 1+1=1 Gallery to exhibit for the month of September. 1+1=1 will host an open house and artist talk on Sunday evening, September 7th. The gallery is located at 335 North Last Chance Gulch. I would love to see you all there — come down and enjoy some delicious food, beverages and great company.

Budding Artist

Ema spends Wednesday afternoons with me at my studio. She is meticulous, creative, precise, funny, cheerful, interested, respectful and persistent. I enjoy her company immensely and I truly look forward to these afternoons. For the last few weeks, she has been working steadily on a mixed-media artwork. Ema started with some image transfers onto a canvas, then used water-soluble colored pencils and collage to complete her piece. I’m always impressed when a young person can sustain interest in a project over a period of days or weeks, and she certainly did on this piece. She finished this one yesterday. Let her know what you think in a comment. 🙂

Wood, Trees and the Spirit of Nature Opens at 1+1=1

Come on down to the 1+1=1 gallery at 335 North Last Chance Gulch in Helena, Montana. We will be open from November 8th through December 8th. The exhibit, “Wood, Trees & the Spirit of Nature” is a pairing of fine studio furniture by Tim Carney with photography and mixed media art by Maureen Shaughnessy, both of Helena. Hope to see you there!
